A Camp Rich in Tradition

Cheley Colorado Camps is located in the Estes Park Valley on three separate sites: Land O' Peaks Ranch, Trail's End Ranch for Boys, and Trail's End Ranch for Girls. Land O’ Peaks Ranch is situated just south of Estes Park on Fish Creek Road, 75 miles northwest of Denver. Boys' Trail's End and Girls' Trail's End are located near the town of Glen Haven, 12 miles east of Estes Park on two beautiful ranch properties. All three camps are easily accessible by car to Front Range residents and to out-of-state/out-of-country campers via Denver International Airport.

One of the best things about Cheley is our location. At the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park, the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forest, and the Indian Peaks Wilderness, the snow-capped peaks and indigenous pine forests create a setting as scenic as any mountainous region in the world. We wake up to views of some of the most picturesque peaks in the world. This beauty has made this Cheley the premier setting for numerous spectacular outdoor activities. In fact, RMNP alone has more than 600 miles of trails that wind through meadows of wildflowers, shaded forests, and the fragile tundra above treeline. Altogether, the environment that surrounds us helps us to provide an unforgettable summer camp experience in the Colorado mountains.

Cheley owns more than 1400 acres in this majestic mountain landscape. Many of the handsome lodges and log cabins that give Cheley's facilities its legendary personality were built in the 1920s during our first decade of operation. The heritage of these buildings helps to establish a strong sense of place, which contributes to a camper’s burgeoning respect for their place in the world. We are diligent in maintaining the integrity of our facilities and preserving their richness for years to come. Every lodge is steeped in tradition and story. In fact, in Ski Hi Lodge, a Grant Wood sculpture hangs above the doorway, created by Wood himself when he was a Cheley counselor in the 1930s.
